A colorful summer is a given for everyone. It's this time of year when we're more willing to go wild with the colors of our outfits than we usually do. We reach for bold, expressive shades, as well as pastels that subtly enhance our beauty. However, each year, the set of absolute top colors changes slightly. What should we focus on this year?

The summer colors of 2021 offer a truly wide palette. Fashion experts are focusing on both very delicate, pastel, even slightly muted shades, as well as strong, expressive, bold colors. There's no shortage of creamy beiges, bold pinks, or slightly more subdued greens. Also catching the eye are strong purple and the absolute key color of this season, a rusty shade of orange. Every 12 months, the renowned Pantone Institute announces the most fashionable colors of the year. This year, a rather unusual pairing has been chosen: a very light gray (Ultimate Grey) and an intense, very energetic yellow (Illuminating Yellow). These colors, of course, also appear in summer styling. Yellow can be found primarily in many holiday accessories, but also on summer dresses and shorts. However, summer has its own rules and, as a season, has its own palette of the most fashionable colors.

Among the strong, bold colors, the most striking are the unique orange, purple and pink.

• Rust, a color that translates to rusty, is one of this year's absolute summer hits; you can find shorts in this color, as well as many dresses. It's a very warm shade of orange that pairs beautifully with beiges, browns, and mustard-colored clothes. It also looks great paired with classic white.
• Amethyst purple – the color of an orchid, a very lush, deep, and at the same time noble shade of purple. It appears primarily in women's fashion, of course, but not exclusively. It pairs beautifully with deep green accessories and mint embellishments. You can pair it equally well with white or cream shades. An amethyst purple total look is a very interesting option for an evening out, wedding, or other important occasions. Interestingly, this color works perfectly with both very fair skin and much more tanned skin.
• Fiery pink – a very striking color; one that has been popular for some time now. This year, instead of a delicate, pastel pink, designers are offering a strong, vibrant color that's impossible to ignore. It looks great on flowing summer dresses, as well as on everyday T-shirts or sweatpants. It looks best with white, gray, and black. However, you can also wear it with other bright shades, creating a color-blocking effect.

There are also more subdued, subtle, and slightly subdued proposals.

• Muted green – one of the more delicate colors of this summer; it comes in at least a few shades more reminiscent of mint, khaki, or pistachio. It's a great color for an all-over look, but you can also successfully pair it with other delicate colors, especially pink and blue. It also pairs well with classic white. Finally, it looks great with amethyst purple, creating one of the trendiest outfits of the season.
• Cream – a choice for romantics who appreciate pastel hues and delicate, subtle styles; this straw-cream shade will surely delight those who love classic styles; buttercream, as this shade is known in English, is therefore an excellent base for very airy and romantic styles, as well as modern, minimalist ones. It works perfectly as a color for shirts, T-shirts, tops, blouses, and even Bermuda shorts.
• Powder blue – there's definitely less room for powder pink this year, but sky blue fits right in with the latest trends. It pairs beautifully with white, but also provides an interesting complement to outfits with creamy beige or rusty orange. It's also a very interesting color for creating a total look.
